Nearly 200 new homes could be built in Taunton as part of a major housing scheme in the town.
A planning application has been sent to Somerset West and Taunton Council for 166 new homes in the Weston neighbourhood of the Comeytrowe Urban Extension.
The whole extension could see as many as 2,000 new homes in the town once work has completed.
Some work has already begun on the site, between the A38 Wellington Road and Honiton Road, for homes that are being provided by developers Taylor Wimpey, Vistry and LiveWest.
A PLANNING application has been submitted for 166 homes as part of the Comeytrowe Urban Extension. The 2,000 homes development is being built by developers Taylor Wimpey, Vistry and LiveWest, between the A38 Wellington Road and Honiton Road. Work has already started on 70 homes, as part of the 2,000 homes development. And Taylor Wimpey has now submitted a reserved matters planning application for 166 of the homes which will be in the Western Neighbourhood of the site (set to consist eventually of around 1,000 properties). If the plans are approved, there will be a mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom houses and 29 of these will be affordable homes. Access to the development will be off the A38.
