Westerman said the trust had hired Palmerston North-based companies, Colspec Construction and Chapple Architecture. Trust chairwoman Liz Mellish said the trust aimed to keep as much of its investments in the Palmerston North economy as possible. It had worked with both companies before, and they were chosen because they shared similar values and policies to the trust, she said. The project’s building and resource consents were approved at the end of June, and it was scheduled to be built by March.
