Diamondbacks Minor League Recap 6/24/21: Nothing to write home about

The Diamondbacks Minor League affiliates combined to a 1-3 record. Hillsboro was the only team that was able to pull off the win with some very lopsided scores along the way. Brandon Pfaadt was the only notable pitching prospect that took the mound.

Reno didn’t put up much of a fight in this one, trailing from beginning to end. Scott Kazmir stymied the Reno lineup for 6 innings, allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk. Reno did get a pair of doubles from Andrew Young and Drew Ellis, but the team collectively went 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position. On the pitching side, Humberto Mejia would allow 4 runs in 3 innings. Brandyn Sittinger and West Tunnell would each allow 2 runs in their outing.
Minor League Recap 5/24/2021: Reno Gets Blown Out

The rest of the Diamondbacks affiliates had the day off. No highlighted hitting or pitching performances today as a result of the days off and the blow out in Reno’s game.
Justin Donatella, Carlos Nava, Noé Ramirez all had very bad outings to start out the game, with three pitchers giving up 14 runs by the end of the fourth inning. Donatella went 1.2 innings, and allowed five runs on five hits and four walks, while striking out three. Donatella was hit especially hard, with four of the five hits going for extra bases, with a pair of doubles, a triple, and a three run home run allowed. Carlos Navas didn’t fair much better, with five runs allowed as well on four hits and two walks, though he wasn’t hit as hard, he also gave up a three run homer. Two women and a man from Santa Maria pleaded not guilty last week to fraud-related charges in which theyâre accused of using a California home to collect more than $390,000 in state medical benefits over more than a decade while living in Nevada.Â
Seferino Hernandez and Eden Bautista, both 59, and Thelma Pedroche, 62, appeared via Zoom before Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Patricia Kelly on Dec. 7 and entered their pleas to the charges, including presenting a false Medi-Cal claim and criminal conspiracy.
Additionally, Bautista and Pedroche each received an enhancement accusing them of stealing more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded benefits.
