A Maricopa police officer investigating an open garage door at a Maricopa Meadows home on Monday night discovered the homeowner pointing a gun at her.
Danny J. Pangle, of West Ranch Road, was arrested minutes later and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, police said.
According to a probable cause statement, the officer had observed the open door just before 10:30 p.m. and went to advise the homeowner to help prevent a possible theft. As the officer approached the home, she pointed her flashlight into the garage and turned it on and then back off. Continuing to walk up the driveway, she again flashed her light into the garage, this time finding Pangle allegedly pointing a firearm at her.
