Amounts? does the fast motion of the storm help you out a bit for that? believe it or not, we re actually hoping for rain here. it s been fairly dry the last several weeks. and the forecast in the eastern counties around jacksonville is about 2-4 which would be just fine. it s under what we would be concerned about for significant flooding here. west of jacksonville, we could see 3-8 of rain. here the rainfall probably won t be to the extent we re too concerned about fresh water flooding here. jane: you talk about the flood potential but also getting back to the tornado risk, because i do think that s going to be a big concern as the night and even as the day goes on tomorrow that has storm really starts to interact with the friction of land. what do you say to the people in jacksonville and the surrounding counties getting to safety especially when the storm comes in? now you re talking potential for flat waters, too? floodwaters, too? we have to pay very close ....

Tropical storm andrea has just made landfall. chad myers is tracking the storm for us. where it is right now, chad? it is right near steen hatche, florida, in an unpopulated area, compared to the rest of florida. right here, moving up to the west of jacksonville. you know, of all the beaches down here, clearwater beach, panama city and destin, and this horseshoe area right here, including st. marks and a couple of little towns, lake city, it s moving on up to the northeast about 15 miles per hour. it will continue all night. so landfall is no more problem. but we still have the potential for tornadoes. they could still be a problem. these are not the f-4 and f-5 tornadoes i was tracking last week in oklahoma. these are tornadoes that could eventually become f-1s or 2s. speeds around 100 miles per hour. that s enough to make a significant difference. four to six inches of rainfall, another problem. we could have flooding all the way from florida right on into d.c. where we could see u ....

it s a long that sparks controversy and outrage as well as sympathy and imitators. today the supreme court told arizona it went too far in trying to stem illegal immigration, taking matters into its own hand that constitutionally belongs to the federal government. the justices struck down three major portions of the law but upheld one of the most controversial provisions. kate bolduan has more. kate, what does the ruling say? hey, joe, it was a big day at the supreme court. one that has both sides trying to spin the ruling in their favor. the high court put the brakes on aggressive state efforts to crack down on immigration, at least for now. from the arizona border to the usz supreme court, the justices offered a split decision on the controversial, illegal immigration law. known as sb 1070. writing for the majority in the 4-3 ruling. justice anthony kennedy said arizona may have understandable frustrations with the problems caused by illegal immigration. but the s ....

16-year-olds on this show. good morning, welcome to early start on this monday. i m ashleigh banfield. happy to have you this morning. i m zoraida sambolin. let s get started. tropical storm beryl making landfall in northeastern florida near jacksonville beach. it s packing a wallop, 70-mile-per-hour winds, torrential rain, more than 24,000 people without power this morning in the area. take a look at the pictures on your screen. that shows you the wind. the wind warnings, storm warnings all up along the atlantic coast from florida to georgia to the carolinas, putting a severe dent in a lot of the memorial day festivities. rob marciano has been pretty much up all night in the severe weather center watching all of this. things getting better tleels for now? well, the wind has died down but the rain is still coming. this event is far from over. at one point winds at 70 miles an hour, almost a hurricane. and some could argue that it was a minimal category 1 hurrica ....
