Suspected fatal hit-and-run driver arrested
Police say Davisburg man is responsible for death of a well-known downtown figure

BIRMINGHAM More than nine months after an unknown suspect left the scene of a fatal car accident in downtown Birmingham, police have been able to track down the driver they believe to be responsible.
Investigators have located the suspect vehicle and driver, Steven Fowlow, a 52-year-old man from Davisburg. Fowlow was arraigned in front of Magistrate Julie Nelson-Klein at the 48th District Court for failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death. Nelson-Klein issued a $10,000 cash/surety/10% bond for Fowlow.

Steven Fowlow was arrested for the hit-and-run death of a man in Birmingham in August of 2020.
BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police in Birmingham said a suspect has been arrested for the hit-and-run death of a homeless man who was killed in August of 2020.
According to police, Steven Fowlow, 52, was arrested after a 10-month-long investigation into the death of Wesley Stamps on Aug. 8, 2020. Stamps was killed early that morning while walking along Woodward in Birmingham around 2 a.m.
Police told FOX 2 in August that after Stamps was hit, the driver stopped for about 20 seconds but then left him to die in the road. Police said Stamps was crossing Woodward and not using a crosswalk when he was hit.

BIRMINGHAM, MI A 52-year-old man has been charged with failure to stop at the scene of a fatal accident after he allegedly hit a homeless man with his car on Aug. 8, 2020. According to Fox 2 Detroit, Steven Fowlow was traveling along Woodward Avenue around 2 a.m. when he allegedly hit Wesley Stamps, who was crossing the street, but not at a designated crosswalk.
In August, police said the suspect stopped his car for about 20 seconds before driving off, leaving Stamps to die in the road. Police were able to determine the make and model of the car based on debris at the scene and surveillance video obtained during the investigation.
