The Enchanting New Netflix Series 'Bridgerton' Is Bursting With Artworks. Here's How They Fit Into the Captivating Story

In episode three, the debutantes and suitors have gathered at Somerset House to see the Royal Academy’s summer exhibition. The brooding Duke of Hastings, it turns out, is also a patron of the arts and has donated a trove of family paintings to the exhibition.
In the scene, Daphne and Simon share a moment of intimacy while gazing at a landscape that once belonged to Simon’s late mother. “The other paintings are certainly very grand and impressive, but this one… this one is intimate,” Daphne remarks. Standing side by side, their hands briefly touch a forbidden caress for those yet to be wed.  ....

The London Locations In Netflix's Bridgerton

Over Christmas, audiences around the world went wild for Bridgerton, Shondaland s giddy new period drama based on Julia Quinn s book series of the same name. The Regency romp follows the exploits of the aristocracy during the London social season, which are exposed by an anonymous and seemingly omniscient scandal sheet writer voiced by Julie Andrews.
The show s flagrant disregard for historical accuracy is all part of the fun the camp one-liners, the refreshingly diverse cast, the string quartet Taylor Swift cover that accompanies one very protracted sex scene montage. But there s one aspect of Bridgerton that really tests our suspension of disbelief its depiction of early 19th century London. ....

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Regency period drama must be shot on location in the English city of Bath. And so, in opulent new Netflix series Bridgerton (the name of a family, not a place), Bath’s picturesque Georgian architecture stands in for London in 1813.
All the exterior shots of “Mayfair” were actually filmed against the honey stone facades of Alfred, Bath and Great Pulteney streets, as well as Beauford Square and Royal Crescent.
Based on the popular romance novels by Julia Quinn, the television series centres around two high society families, the sophisticated Bridgertons and the gauche Featheringtons, as their daughters aim to find eligible husbands during the London social season. ....

The History of the Greenwich Villa in Bridgerton | The London Resident

Talk about wisteria hysteria – when the Ranger’s House in Greenwich turned up looking absolutely resplendent in Netflix’s latest hit series, Bridgerton, we were practically apoplectic.
Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but hey, none of us are getting out much at the moment. Still, it’s always great to see London landmarks shown off at their best on TV, especially when they’re somewhat lesser known, and especially when you happen to live nearby.
Ranger’s House is one of those places that you pass often and think, ‘I really should visit that place one day’. The English Heritage property stars in the shiny new modern period drama as the family home of the protagonist, Daphne Bridgerton (played by Phoebe Dynevor), and her numerous siblings (there are eight of them altogether). ....
