Robert “Bob” Allen Hicks of Mesa, AZ, passed away on Jan. 1, 2021.
Bob was born on Dec. 28, 1941, in Lewistown, PA, where he also attended school and was a member of the varsity wrestling team. He joined the Army Airborne Division and was jumping out of airplanes after altering his birth certificate at the age of 16.
After the military, Bob worked as a home builder and relocated to Fulton County, where he married and had four children. He was a chef for several years at the Rainbow Restaurant in Johnstown, NY. In the 1970s Bob moved to Arizona and after years in the construction field, he began his own successful businesses. As the owner of Bob and Jo’s Construction, he built custom homes throughout Scottsdale and Fountain Hills. He was also the proprietor of September’s Bar and Grill in Mesa. Bob was always busy making improvements at the bar and at his home where his back yard is especially amazing. He was charismatic, tough as nails and “smart as smart.”
