Assault: A man who stopped in an East Springfield convenience store said he was assaulted by two men who have been harassing and threatening him for months over an incident that happened more than a decade ago, Thursday. The man said the 65-year-old father and 36-year-old son approached him, asked him his name and then threatened to kill him, demanding that he go outside so they could fight. When he tried to go to the front of the store to ask the clerk to call for help, he said the younger man shoved him and his father hit him in the neck with his forearm. The victim told deputies the duo’s harassing behavior stems from a trespassing incident on his father’s property in 2006 and the two men have been harassing him since October. The case has been referred to the prosecutor, deputies noted.
