Live firing to take place this week at Lulworth Ranges

LIVE firing will take place on Lulworth Ranges this week.
It is due to start this morning with the firing scheduled for 9.30am until 5.30pm daily up to and including Thursday April 22.
There will also be firing between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Friday and night firing on Tuesday and Thursday between 8pm and midnight.
Notice has been given to the public under the Lulworth Ranges Byelaws 1978.
The Lulworth Ranges are military firing ranges located between Wareham and Lulworth, covering an area of more than 2,830 hectares.
They are leased in a rolling contract from the Weld Estate by the Ministry of Defence and are part of the Armoured Fighting Vehicles Gunnery School based at Lulworth Camp. ....

Parachutists throw themselves from top of Dorset's Durdle Door


Two daredevil base jumpers have been caught on film hurling themselves off Durdle Door arch in Dorset.
The two base jumpers stunned members of the public out for an Easter Sunday walk by ascending the 200ft tall landmark on the Dorset coast.

A BASE jumper escaped with two broken legs when he plunged 530ft to the ground after his parachute failed to open.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was airlifted to hospital after crashing to the base of Beachy Head in East Sussex.

His friends continued to jump yesterday following the incident despite a warning from officials.
The coastguard and ambulance crews attended Beachy Head cliff after receiving a 999 call at 9.15am.
Air ambulance crews and a helicopter were seen taking off following the incident. ....

It was widely reported in 2006 that Prince Harry had rented an isolated cottage in the village of Shaggs while he trained to become a tank commander at nearby Bovington Camp in Purbeck.
Newspapers claimed his then girlfriend Chelsy Davy visited the prince on many occasions at the property.
