“八水绕长安”，描述的是汉唐时期长安（今陕西省西安市）的良好水环境。那时，“八水”环绕长安城外，城内也遍布人工湖泊。随着生态环境变化，“八水明如练”的画面成为历史，“八水”虽存，但水量小、水质差，城内渠道废塞、水流不畅。
记者近日随全国人大常委会办公厅牵头的中华环保世纪行宣传活动采访团在西安采访时了解到，近十多年来，西安市持续推进河湖治理，特别是2019年出台西安市河湖水系保护治理三年行动方案，全域治水、碧水兴城，八水绕长安得到重塑，良好水环境再次回到西安市民的日常生活。
