The Birrarangga Film Festival wraps up on Tuesday night, with the film Muru, after almost a week of captivating programming that included the coming-of-age film Sweet As and the panel Whose Story is it Anyway, where producer Jodie Bell pointed out why First Nations people need to drive First Nations stories.
A coming-of-age story about unconventional friendships and first crushes, and a story inspired by true events about a police officer who must choose between duty to his badge or his people. These are just some of the films due to screen at the Birrarangga Film Festival, which will showcase Indigenous storytelling from across the globe.
