You ll want to watch out for these freeway closures to avoid major weekend slowdowns.
In Galveston County, I-45 Gulf Freeway northound will be shut down from FM-2004 to Holland Road overnight Friday.
I-45 south will be closed from FM-517 to FM-2004 overnight on Saturday.
To avoid slow downs, you can detour to Highway 3 or the feeder road.
There will be a nightly closure on US-59, the Southwest Freeway southbound from Chimney Rock to Beechnut through Sunday morning.
Drivers can take the feeder road or Westpark as an alternate route.

as the storm was coming in. they would expect about 250,000 people to be here this weekend, this holiday weekend. that s on top of the 57,000 or so permanent residents here. it seemed like there were a few people on the beach but only a handful here and definitely not fourth of july weekend traffic we went to a very popular restaurant up the road here in nags head. we were some of the only customer, so right now it is dark. we re waiting to see what the damage was to buildings and to cars and low-lying areas and waiting to see what the impact was to small and large businesses here on what is supposed to be a big money maker for them. back to you. enjoy the calm because it s going to get more windy. i saw one gust hit you. neighbor eye may be passing by. thank you, peter. it is always a spar spangled day in northern california just outside of san francisco.

how quickly they were able to sign up and enroll, but the department of human services put out this statement. the statement said, quote, the site is performing well today with low overall error rates and response times. despite heavier than usual weekend traffic. we are making additional hardware upgrades and software fixes tonight as part of a planned set of improvements to improve speed and reduce errors. the president s obama care team has been working for weeks on this website. it was down for 11 hours last night for maintenance. jeffrey zeints says by today 50,000 people should be able to use the website at the same time and the website should be able to handle 800,000 consumer visits a day. harris? well, that would be a lot, but again, we don t have hard numbers to judge this by. and we know republicans are talking about this on this saturday. republicans say they re skeptical and waiting to see if the obama administration will live up to these promises.
