Livekindly Collective, the fast-growing US firm that is building up a portfolio of plant-based food brands around the world, has entered into a deal to acquire The Dutch Weed Burger.
The Amsterdam-based company offers a variety of plant-based food enriched with seaweed and microalgae such as its Weed Burger, Weed Balls, Weed Dogg, Seawharma and Nuggets. The brand’s products are available direct-to-consumer (DTC), from supermarkets such as Albert Heijn, as well as a variety of restaurants.
The deal further expands Livekindly’s brand portfolio that currently includes Oumph!, The Fry Family Food Co., and LikeMeat. The group also recently acquired No Meat, a vegan meat alternative company that was owned by British supermarket chain Iceland.
