Weaverville: Man killed in forklift accident at plant was local, police say

Weaverville police on Wednesday released the name of a man killed in a forklift accident at a Western North Carolina plant.Steven Grimsland, 60, of Mooresville, died at the scene from injuries suffered in the accident that was reported about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at Thermo Fisher Scientific on Aiken Road in Weaverville, police said.Police and fire crews found Grimsland s body near a loading dock area. Police said no other information will be released due to the ongoing investigation being conducted by the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Department and the Weaverville Police Department.
