just imagine if you were in contact with that for ten minutes or an hour or three hours. so, what should people know about preventing these types of burns? and as a doctor, what resources will you need if these types of injuries continue? okay. so, obviously we recommend that people stay inside during the afternoons. if you have to go out, wear protective clothing. make sure you wear protective shoes and socks. stay well hydrated. if you have to be out, take frequent breaks, get into the shade, get into the air conditioning. take somebody with you or make sure somebody knows where you re going. and as far as resources for the future, over the last five years, we ve seen a continuous rise in the number of these types of injuries. and right now our burn center is full. so, next year, we re going to need more people, more space, more operating rooms, et cetera. well, i so appreciate what you and the other doctors and nurses do. thank you so much, dr. foster. thank you for having m

normal. so it can be kind of a double whammy. if you can avoid it, don t fall. there are circumstances why people fall. but when you talk about like grabbing the handle of a door or a car handle and that has caused burns because of the hot surfaces, what is your recommendation to people about because this heat wave is going to go on for at least another ten days. what do you recommend to people about how they can protect themselves given the conditions? right. so what we try and tell people is don t go out in the middle of afternoon. stay inside from 10 or 11 in the morning until probably 5 or 6:00 in the late afternoon. if you do have to go out, maybe sure you re protected. wear protective clothing, wear a hat, always wear shoes and don t just trust socks. and be careful when you touch anything. one of the biggest problems we see is people going out to their cars, the steering wheels, the
