feel like a zero sum game. this is dishonest and dishonorable. we need to recognize courage across the aisle if we want congress to work because democracy depends on an assumption of good will. these devil terms take direct aim at that good will. we can already see this fear mongering online has real world eff effects. insisting on a fact-based debate is absolutely necessary for a self-governing associate. we meade to confront fear with facts and steer towards solutions that decrease polarization and misinformation. armed with the understanding that the vast majority of americans are not hard partisans who hate the other side. america has been playing a dangerous game by enabling these extremes to profit while flooding the zone with hate. not least because it pushes good people away from participating in politics. defending our democracy will require fewer of these devil terms and more appeals to the better angels of our nature. and that s your reality check.

sentences for the men ultimately murdering ahmaud arbery. it s important to remember that this case may not have ever got on the that point were it not for that video. that s right. right now the former district attorney in brunswick is going to be prosecuted because there was over a month s time that went by from the death of ahmaud arbery to the arrest of these individuals where there was no action taken by that office. if it weren t for the love of a black mother with respect to arbery s mom posting an independent investigation from the georgia bureau of investigations, this case may not have seen the light of day. and so while we can appreciate the verdict in this case and while we can appreciate the sentencing in this case, it s very important that we do not condition ourselves from a public standpoint that we meade the evidence in every incident in order to pursue accountability on behalf of people being killed. that is a very dangerous model that we kind of sort of set up.
