for so many, myself included. she helped us redefine feminism and wrest the narrative away from dominant culture as she called it. she declared feminism for everybody not just the white middle class women. this may seem like conventional wisdom today, it was not so at the time she declared the sentiment. many reasons why we are free to have the conversation is because of the work, writing, and research done by her. to so many it seems like the discussion of equality, racism and white supremacy is a novelty, the buzz word dejure that populate the air waves. there were many of us that always had these discussions. we county didn t have to inform each other of the collective struggle, that understanding of the societal limitations set upon us was our birthright but as social media democratized who has a voice in this landscape
