The fcc took issue based on a complaint from a listener in his automobile at the time with his son, and he claimed that it was indecent. claimed it was an invasion of his privacy and his son shouldn t be subjected to that. seven words you couldn t say on television didn t exist before george carlin. it instantly goes into the court record and fcc and everybody pretends that these are the actual words. he created the very battle that was fought against him. the federal communications commission said new york s wbai was wrong in playing the record. though the fcc imposed no punishment immediately and the supreme court agreed. i was raised in time when using bad language was associated with people of low intelligence. he helped break that. ....

But an analysis of a newly released database of disciplinary records, while limited, shows that violence by guards continues to be a problem in the cityâs jail system.
