DePaul's vice president of enrollment joins SGA general body meeting to discuss university enrollment numbers, answer questions

DePaul’s Vice President of Enrollment Management Soumitra Ghosh joined DePaul’s Student Government Association during its general body meeting Thursday providing members with an update about the university’s enrollment numbers for spring and fall 2021.
According to Ghosh, the university will end spring quarter with a total headcount of 19,012 students, which was 97 percent of DePaul’s budgeted goal of 19,597 students but 2.7 percent behind compared to spring quarter last year. 
But DePaul’s budgeted goal for this quarter was 3.5 percent lower than that of last year.
Some of DePaul’s colleges have not met DePaul’s budgeted enrollment goals. ....

SGA details review of last quarter's initiatives in Fall Quarter Transparency Report

DePaul’s Student Government Association provided a review of last quarter’s initiatives, events and activities in their Fall Quarter Transparency Report. 
In the report obtained by The DePaulia, SGA discussed ways they worked to support the DePaul community over the past year.
“The past year has been very challenging due to the COVID-19 [pandemic], demands for racial justice, and a historic presidential election, but our commitment to the DePaul community remains the same,” the report reads. “As DePaul’s student government, we expressed student concerns on remote learning, advocated for mental health resources, created safe spaces for dialogue and continuously stood in solidarity with our students of color.” ....

SGA passes several resolutions during first meeting of the quarter

DePaul’s Student Government Association (SGA) passed three resolutions regarding registration for commuter students, commencement planning for the Class of 2021 and the university’s reversal to its regular grading policies, respectively, during its first general body meeting of the quarter on Thursday. 
 The first resolution advocates for commuter students to have an earlier enrollment period when registering for classes.  
 Under the “Resolution Concerning Earlier Registration for Commuter Students,” earlier enrollment dates for commuter students would be divided into time-based brackets. These brackets would correspond with the student’s regular enrollment time and date. Students commuting more than two hours to campus would be given first priority while students with a 30-minute commute or less would fall into the fourth bracket.   ....
