Burlington, IA- Burlington Municipal Waterworks has begun flushing fire hydrants on dead-end streets in the city. During the process, which began Tuesday, April 11th, residents may experience temporary low pressures or discolored water. If discolored water is experienced, the Waterworks suggests residents let their cold water run in a sink or bathtub, capable of draining the flow, for up to 20 minutes. If the problem still persists, please notify the Waterworks Office at 754-6501, or after hours, notify the Water Treatment Plant at 752-7611. For those customers with a water meter, letting the water run will increase the amount of your bill. ....

Burlington, IA- The Burlington Municipal Waterworks will begin their annual flushing of city fire hydrants beginning the first week of September and will continue for approximately 5-6 weeks. During this time, residents may experience temporary low pressures or discolored water. If discolored water is experienced, waterworks suggests letting cold water run in a sink or bathtub, capable of draining the flow, for up to 20 minutes.
