Surrounding counties are lending a hand after winds took hold of multiple fires across Virginia. A crew from Southwest Virginia headed to Albemarle and Page counties last week to help put out the fires.
Our host, Sonia laughingly claims to have stolen land off her good friend, Mac, to set up the glampsite. He doesn’t seem to mind. They’re both there to meet us on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. “This is such a special place,” she smiles before regaling us with stories of past guests’ encounters with wildlife (“Two pigs walked by when one woman was sitting in the bath. She didn’t know whether to jump out or sit quietly for them to pass by!”) and Mac shows us a video he took of a doe and her fawn standing in the driveway.
