An unfinished Brexit lorry park in Ashford is expected to get busier in the coming days after opening for the first time last week.

Now new drone photos capture just how big the plot is - as staff prepare for an influx of lorries at the end of the Christmas lull.
Ashford MP Damian Green described the move as a really bad error , but says capacity at the lorry park has been handled very well so far . ....

Confused truckers trying to find a huge Brexit lorry park are getting lost in a nearby village - making houses shake and churning up grass verges.
Angry residents in Mersham near Ashford say they are living in a total nightmare as HGV drivers head to the 66-acre facility next to Junction 10a of the M20.

But since then, residents have been faced with dozens of lorries heading into Mersham as truckers try to find the controversial facility off the A2070 link road. ....

The opening of a fourth McDonald s in Ashford will create traffic chaos on one of the town s busiest roundabouts, according to critics.
Bosses at the burger giant want to turn a plot of undeveloped land off the notoriously congested Chart Road into a 136-seater site, creating more than 65 jobs.
McDonaldâs says the site represents an âappropriate locationâ for a 24-hour restaurant
They submitted a planning application to Ashford Borough Council in September, but the project has sparked an angry backlash from concerned residents who fear the landmark âtank roundaboutâ will be unable to cope with the extra demand. ....

Drivers will have to put up with more traffic lights close to the M20 when new signals are installed outside a post-Brexit lorry park this week.
Highways bosses at Kent County Council are closing the A2070 link road in Ashford for three nights to allow for the works.
The inland border facility is set to open on Friday
The lights will mean truckers can turn right when leaving the 66-acre site, which is being built next to the M20 and is due to open at the end of the transition period on Friday. ....

Inventive villagers are ensuring truckers stuck in Operation Stack don t go hungry - by lowering bags of food to them from bridges over the M20.
Kind-hearted residents from Mersham near Ashford are using a rope and bags for life to deliver goods including beans, fruit and sweets to stranded lorry drivers.
