Maine Street, Lake Placid, as seen on April 20 (News photo Andy Flynn) LAKE PLACID After taking the weekend off, construction crews upgrading Main Street plan to continue their excavation of the water main from Monday, May 3 to Friday, May 7, according to Haley Breen, community development director for the town of North Elba and village of Lake Placid. Crews expect to install 100 feet of 16-inch water line each day, working from the north end of the village. They will pressure test and disinfect the new water line from Saranac Avenue to Hayes Street and will begin connecting services to each building in that area once test results are approved.
