We re not getting anything like we thought we were going to get. by the cameras we haven t seen any washovers yet. the water is coming up to the region on the dune, but not over it. when was the last time, mayor, you had dune and beach e renourishment there? how old is this sand we re talking about? we were putting sand on the beach during turtle season the 1st of june. that s the last time we had sand on the beach. this time it didn t seem like we re losing a lot of it. you didn t have to get tough with anybody, that people followed the warnings as far as you can tell, and most importantly, please tell me your first responders haven t been called out to get some hair-brained person? i think they sold that car ....
Right through the opening you re looking, those are the two bridges. one bridge goes to biscayne bay and you can t see that in a distance. but, so, all bridges you re watching the washover there. when you were standing there yesterday, right along with mike, there was a five-foot drop. four and a half five foot drop. there s a boopier below that. just about all those boards are off the pier right now and that lift that he s got is about a foot and a half there. it s about knee height and you re already getting washovers. look at the pier. you can see bits of that pier. there s wood in that water. that s the kind of thing that is happening. the power of this storm had washed away that pier. i assumed as you were talking about the pier that once that water receded we we d see a pier again. that s all going to be gone. and, again, as managing editor of the weather channel for three ....
Here for the holiday weekend, we re going to have pretty nice beaches? this should be cleaned by tomorrow afternoon. we had a lot of rain, we re flat as a pancake, but yet we drain pretty quickly. we drained all of the five plus inches we got. that s two months of rain, isn t it? i think we did very well. we didn t have any crossover, washovers within the city limits, there were some far up north, i think we did pretty well t surge had me a little bit bothered or concerned, but it turned out it wasn t a problem. people called and said, hey, it s not too bad, i m going to come for the holiday weekend. because you swell to 100,000 for the holiday weekend. on tuesday, i believe it was, i said that by thursday afternoon, friday we would be ready to go for fourth of july. we have got fireworks friday night, saturday nights and sunday night. congratulations, mr. mayor. ....
