Since last year, Downing Street has been gearing up for the new White House-style press conferences which will be led by 39-year-old political maven Allegra Stratton. Her appointment was at the heart of the December fallout with former Director of Communications Lee Cain, who allegedly felt there wasn’t room for the two of them at the heart of government.
Finally, the £2.6 million renovation within No 9 Downing Street is complete as the first pictures emerged yesterday; showing it kitted out with blue panelling, Union Jack flags and a lectern labeled ‘Downing Street’ with the official insignia.
