MOSCOW Russian authorities detained Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny on his return to Moscow on Sunday, five months after a near-fatal poisoning in Siberia.
The opposition leader was taken into custody shortly after his flight landed at Moscow s Sheremetyevo Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport, Russia s prison service said. Before his arrival, Russian authorities said he was on a wanted list for allegedly violating the terms of his suspended sentence from a 2014 embezzlement conviction. Navalny and the European Court of Human Rights have called that case a political prosecution. ....
