WASHINGTON (JTA) An agency that provides administrative services to the US military posted an Easter sermon on its website that described a New Testament passage preaching to Jews as a demand to “say sorry” for killing Jesus.
The Washington Headquarters Services pulled down the sermon attributed to a Navy chaplain in North Carolina on April 28, a day after complaints by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a group that advocates for troops and veterans who report discrimination in the military. ....

WASHINGTON The Pentagon’s Silicon Valley outreach team needs an internal cybersecurity tool to safely collaborate with commercial vendors outside of the department’s networks, according to a recent notice.
The Defense Innovation Unit, through the department’s Washington Headquarters Service, is seeking a multifactor authentication tool to verify its users’ identities on systems that don’t require the department’s standard ID through its Common Access Card program, according to the May 3 “sources sought” solicitation.
“DIU has a unique mission of leveraging commercial solutions to rapidly improve national security. This requires the use of cloud-based, non-DoD information systems that closely integrate with systems used within the fast-paced, innovative commercial technology sector,” the solicita ....

Marine chaplain's post deemed antisemitic – The Forward

A U.S. Marine chaplain’s summary of a New Testament passage that appeared on military websites blamed the “Men of Israel” for killing Christ.
The remarks, written for Easter, were part of a post by the chaplain published on both Camp Lejeune and Department of Defense websites. The post stayed up for weeks before complaints to the military prompted it to be removed, said a source familiar with the incident.
The chaplain, Lt. Aristotle Rivera, quoted a passage in which the Apostle Peter addresses a group of “Men of Israel” gathered in Jerusalem, telling them that Jesus lived and by God’s plan was crucified by men. ....
