Rubenstein School Installs 100s of Long-Term Monitoring Plots on UVM Forests

The University of Vermont (UVM) Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources has established 464 permanent monitoring plots on UVM Forests. The Vermont properties Jericho Research Forest in the town of Jericho, Talcott Forest in Williston, Wolcott Research Forest in Wolcott, and Washington Forest in Washington are owned by UVM and managed by the Rubenstein School.
The Continuous Forest Inventory (CFI) plots, installed during the summers of 2019 and 2020, will be re-visited each decade, beginning in the summer of 2021, to collect data and monitor changes in tree age and health, tree species composition, carbon sequestration, and other forest ecosystem attributes. ....

if you look at the private pension system, it covers fairly poorly most of the population. i have not quite updated it, but it says that for 75% of people that retire, social security and medicare is in excess of all of their private assets. we have a larger extent of the population dependent upon social security and medicare. how do we deal with it? one way we do what it is be we tried to increase some of those cash benefits for lower and moderate income people. from the middle-income people, i do not think we can get thereby adding to a system that is out of balance. we need to recognize that private retirement system is not doing a good job of covering the vast majority of people. it is almost beside the question we need to figure out ways of enhancing the savings of middle income people as they move towards retirement. thank you. you mentioned that there is public support for revenue increases to social security. could you elaborate on that? the raising the ca ....
