Pharmaceutical and health product specialist group Wasdell has created more than 100 additional jobs since November in order to fulfil new contracts for products to combat Covid-19. The group won a number of contracts to produce packaging for several products during the pandemic, including antiseptics used in healthcare settings. This meant that the team needed to recruit more staff in a number of different disciplines so that the contracts could be fulfilled. Chief operating officer Daniel Tedham said the company is proud to be playing a vital part in fighting transmission of the coronavirus. He added: “Since March 2020 the demand for antiseptics for use in both household and medical settings has rocketed.
Wasdell Group strengthens PPFL business with ISO 13485 for medical devices December 13, 2020
The Wasdell Group has announced its Dundalk, Ireland facility has been certified to comply with the ISO 13485 standard for medical device manufacturing.
The ISO 13485 denotes the company’s quality management system complies to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
Earlier this year, The Wasdell Group acquired a specialist packaging supplier to the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors, Planned Packaging Films Limited (PPFL). The ISO standard will further strengthen this offering by providing a base for PPFL services in Ireland.
Graham Wright, MD of PPFL said: “We are delighted that we now have a base in Ireland that can support our continued growth in the medical packaging sector within the UK and Ireland, as well as our export markets.”
