School choirs to mark 30th anniversary of Warrington bombing

Tributes paid to Ian Scholes from Warrington Male Voice Choir

WARRINGTON Male Voice Choir (WMVC) have paid tribute to their former secretary who was part of the historic group for decades.
The late Ian Scholes has been described as a true Mr Fix-it, an enthusiastic chorister, a gentleman and a pillar of the choir .
He joined WMVC in 1983 and was secretary for 12 years and in a fitting farewell the choir have recorded his favourite Welsh hymn, Gwahoddiad.
Ian died in January and his funeral took place on Tuesday. He was 85.
Chairman Bob Williams said: During his time in the choir, even when he wasn’t secretary, Ian was always on hand to sort everything out. ....
