Rita Ora to perform for Nova's Red Room

Pop artist Rita Ora has been announced as the first 2021 performer for Nova Entertainment’s Red Room. Ora will perform on Wednesday 17 March.
The announcement:
Rita Ora, one of the world’s hottest artists, will be the first artist to perform live for Nova’s Red Room in 2021 on Wednesday 17 March at Warner Music Australia’s Sydney Office.
No stranger to Nova’s Red Room stage, having performed for Melbourne fans in 2017, Rita Ora is the first artist to kick off Nova’s Red Room 2021 series, supported by new Australian DJ duo Kinder.

Annabelle Herd named Chief Executive Officer of Australia's ARIA

Annabelle Herd has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA).
Effective February 1, Herd will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of both Australian music industry organizations in a joint role, reporting to the Boards of both ARIA and PPCA.
Herd’s appointment follows the news that former ARIA and PPCA CEO Dan Rosen has been hired as the new President of Warner Music Australasia, effective February 1.
Herd joins ARIA and PPCA following a 16-year career at Network 10 where she most recently held the role of Chief Operating Officer. ....

A group of the biggest names in New Zealand music has released an open letter urging industry leaders – and workers at every level – to examine their own behaviour in the wake of this week’s sexual harassment revelations.
The letter, penned by singer-songwriter Anna Coddington and released to
Stuff, has been signed by major artists including Bic Runga, Anika Moa and Lorde.
Moa said she was also talking to other artists about creating a “database” of people known to show problematic behaviours, to protect young people entering the industry. ....

Allegations of abuse and impropriety in the New Zealand music business have caused a second major manager to resign, following earlier news that Lorde’s ex-manager had stepped down from his firm. Now the manager of “Supalonely” singer Benee, Paul McKessar, has left the firm he cofounded and directed, CRS Management director, after after days of addressing charges of sexual harassment.
The scandals have arisen largely as a result of the New Zealand publication Stuff publishing an investigative report revealing a rampant culture of misogyny and exploitation behind the scenes in the business. ....
