A High Court judge has described as “unfortunate” the failure by representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to appear before him in the judicial review claim of a Carenage man who hopes to enlist before he turns 25 in June.
A day after a murder accused received the court’s permission to challenge the failure by police to send the file on the investigation to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for his prosecution and so he can apply for bail, the file was sent.
A Carenage man whose hope of becoming a Defence Force recruit was dashed after he was told he could not continue the recruitment process for enlistment because of an alleged “adverse report” against him, has received the court’s green-light to challenge the decision.
The Defence Force has agreed to award the efficiency medal to an army major when President Christine Kangaloo, as commander in chief of the armed forces, hosts the next parade for servicemen and women to receive their efficiency decorations and medals.
