Several people were honored during last year’s “I Have A Dream Awards Banquet” at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Lima. This year’s event will focus on the march.

REGION There are a few events to choose from this weekend:
• An event to honor Martin Luther King Jr. will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the former Whittier School site, 400 block of Holmes Avenue, Lima. This year would have been the 39th annual banquet, and the event will center instead on a march, according to 6th Ward Councilman Derry Glenn. The event begins at 1 p.m. with an awards presentation and will be followed by a march from the Whittier School location to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center Park.
