time, but if they really want to pull paul ryan forward, they have to go back to that war on contraception, war on abortion, war on women language because it s really true, they would take away major rights for women, and if they think that s a winning formula in 2012, let them try it. here is the recent political director in iowa, here is what he had to say, or she had to say about the republican party and how it s criticizing this guy, romney. i hate to say this but if ryan wants to run for national office again, he ll probably have to wash the stench of romney off of him. the word stench, gene, it s a very unpleasant word, and i wouldn t be that rough, even me. but the stench of romney? that is unpleasant. this is a republican statewide coordinator out in wisconsin. well, you know, we sat here through the primary season, and we saw, you know, the republican party s embracing love for mitt romney. actually, no, we didn t. they settled for mitt romney. he was a consensus best
so, you know, it s really backwards. it s really retrograde, and we ve talked about it for a long time, but if they really want to pull paul ryan forward they have to go back to that war on contraception, war on abortion, war on women language because it s really true, they would take away major rights for women, and if they think that s a winning formula in 2012, let them try it. here is the recent political director in iowa, here is what he had to say, or she had to say about the republican party and how it s criticizing this guy, romney. i hate to say this but if ryan wants to run for national office again, he ll probably have to wash the stench of romney off of him. the word stench, gene, it s very unpleasant word, and i wouldn t be that rough, even me. but the stench of romney? that is unpleasant. this is a republican statewide coordinator out in wisconsin. well, you know, we sat here through the primary season, and we saw, you know, the republican

argument is that the republicans are energizing their base by focusing on all of this. well, yes, that is an argument. i was thinking about that. the point is that it s one thing to take, make an argument about abortion because you know, people don t have personal experience with abortion. some do and some don t. with birth control as i said, 93% of women use birth control. even if you re a conservative woman, a lot of women use birth control. so women don t want to the planned parenthood, a lot of women identify with planned parenthood because it was a rite of passage when they were younger, they would go to planned parenthood if they didn t want to go to their parents. when nancy brinker cut off funding to planned parenthood, that was one of the first indications that this was a war on contraception. i think that got people upset. rick santorum interjected it into the presidential race. then you had rush limbaugh
yeah, you know if someone does like that, not go there because it just exacerbates it. and it drags it out. i m moving on. but he s using it as a political tool. why didn t he step in when it happened on the left? i don t have the answer to that. but he sees this as a good political moment. yeah. i mean, it s people on both sides say horrible, horrible things and you wonder why they do. but this comes, though, at the end of, richard haass, a month of republicans just going to war on contraception. an issue that was resolved in they had the advantage when all the catholics were on their side. but they couldn t leave it alone. and it just continues with one statement after another that makes them look like they re hostile not just to democratic women, but to women i heard it again from my wife yesterday.
