As of Wednesday, data from the State of Michigan website showed that there have been 709 cumulative cases and 1,010 cumulative probables of COVID-19 in Chippewa County.
There have been 25 deaths relating to the virus.
On Tuesday, it was reported by the Chippewa County Health Department that 1,657 people have recovered.
Compared to last week’s totals, there had been 707 confirmed cases, 1,011 probable cases and 25 deaths due to COVID-19 in Chippewa County. Per the health department, there had been 1,594 people who have recovered from the virus.
War Memorial Hospital and Sugar Island Emergency Medical Services are bringing a COVID-19 vaccination clinic to Sugar Island from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Sugar Island Town hall. Vaccinations will be given by appointment only to individuals over the age of 65 and a resident of Chippewa County. To schedule an appointment, call (906) 253-1003.

Individuals entering the main building will be screened upon entry. After screening, all individuals are required to wear a mask. Anyone refusing to be screened or refusing to wear a mask will not be allowed to enter the facility.
