military members behind the stunning rebellion and russia are returning to filth camps in ukraine after their leader struck a deal with the kremlin. now there are growing questions about how this inter-strife could affect russia s war inside ukraine. joining me now is a member of the queen parliament, and with more on, this it is great you to talk to you thanks for joining us on this. let me get your reaction, when things were playing out yesterday, the uprising, and the abrupt deal that was subsequently made, how are ukrainians reacting, how are you reacting to those events? well, i will tell you, this is the first hour since this was, unfolding i did try to keep my head as cool as possible, it did not seem, real so was thinking this what have we ve been doing for the last 16 months. this is our, job we should not
it s a big day and commemorates the loss of dozens and millions of russians lost in world war ii and it commemorates the death of tens of millions of russians during the second world war. he would have a hard time selling a counter narrative to that when he s losing tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of troops in what he s still calling a special military operation and not a war inside ukraine and the ukrainians were saying that this can be used by the kremlin as a diversion to the losses that it s having in ukraine. the concern in ukraine is what will putin choose to do in the back of this and the reality is there is a potential counter offensive building up and the other piece of the puzzle here that ukraine will be looking at are the number of strikes that have occurred or the attacks that have occurred inside russia just beyond the borders of ukraine at russian supply lines
and understanding military. we saw that with hitler during world war ii. but we also saw that with president johnson during the bombing campaign of north vietnam in the late 60s. i can t think in modern history where we had a situation where a leader of a country directing the individual soldiers on the ground has ended up better than worse. yeah. and notably, there was some intelligence intercepts that revealed that some of the soldiers on the ground were lamenting the directions from mo moscow. they were complaining. what did you make of that? well, two things, i also don t know a soldier in war who hasn t bitched about his leaders. but the fact remains if it gets to the point now where the leader is, as we say, using the thousand-mile screwdriver to try to adjust the war inside ukraine, it shows two things. number one, vladimir putin has an overestimation of his own
honest discussion about the problem we re facing at the southern border and highlight more radical positionsings that democratic party has, there is a faction that wants to defund ice and that is crazy. bill: big deals overseas with what is happening with putin and russia. we asked a question yesterday that seems rather apparent and that is this, watch. are we effectively at war with russia? we are not, not at all. russia is at war inside ukraine and despite the rhetoric we heard from putin trying to make this about west versus russia or united states versus russia ornato versus russia, nothing is further from the truth. bill: when you woke up yesterday and heard about the threat of nuclear weapons on behalf of vladamir putin, what did you think as a member of the military yourself? i think putin is trying to blackmail us and intimidate the
i think you ll hear from the president a full throated defense the united states is doing to support ukraine over going on seven months of war to include the security assistance we re providing and other financial aid. the way the united states has marshaled the rest of the west and countries around the world to do the same. i think he will be firm where we stand on ukraine and their territorial integrity and sovereignty and how important it is to push for that. bill: are we effectively at war with russia? not at all. no, we are not. russia is at war inside ukraine. despite the rhetoric we heard from putin trying to make it about the west versus russia or the united states versus russia ornate owe versus russia, nothing can be farther from the truth. ukraine is fighting to defend their country. bill: you could argue the weapons we have provided lately, the rockets which are high mobility rockets that travel 50 miles in the air have
