February is
Black History Month, it’s something that no American of any race, color, or creed should forget. African Americans, the decendants of slaves and slaves themselves fought for freedom that was only at best was in the
promissory note of the
Emancipation Proclamation.
Those men, and women in the case of Harriett Tubman and Sojourner Truth, paved the way for freedom for African Americans and all others who benefited from what they fought for: women, Native Americans, Mexican Americans, and other Hispanics, Asian Americans, and LGBTQ Americans.
That promise being made then, must be kept today, to the descendents of this men, as well as all who benefited through their sacrifice: even the Southern Whites who at the time did not know then, or all too often today, that they too needed emancipation.

dana: sammy hagar. not my choice. national movement to change the names of names. it has now hit school district in portland, oregon. the centennial school board said to change the name of three elementary schools with the word lynch, the name lynch. with growing concern about the word and racial connotation. lynch would, lynch view, and lynch meadows were named after the lynch family who donated the land for the school over a century ago. here s a school board chair. we are doing what we believe is right for sugar. we have children of color and other cultures. we want to make sure they re able to cross the threshold of those three schools. and be comfortable in herh surroundings. dana: so great, do you think they re doing the greatest

you and president obama s effort to keep the white house in november fell short, but he apparently fired up and ready to go to help save the democratic party. reportos that he will reemerge into the political scene this fall to help democrats rebuild. dana, you work for a president at the end of his term. is there anything wrong with p e president coming back? dana: everyone can make their own choice. and the thing that president bush said ateg the end of his term, he does not crave the attention for something new. he created the center in dallas, and he rarely speaks out on anything political. the only time that he was about to when president obama didth nt suspendas the cia interrogators. but vice president cheney did that. i think at some ways, president bush chose a different path. greg: he did go on a trail for candidates later on. fund-raisinge. dana: also, he was an
