World Cup 2023: Despite the team being praised by the likes of Pakistani bowling great Wasim Akram from time to time, there have been skeptics who have claimed that the World Cup 2023 is rigged in favour of India, right from the toss to the ball and even the pitch. 1983 World Cup veteran Sunil Gavaskar has the perfect rejoinder for these skeptics
Reports suggest a pitch switch at Mumbai s Wankhede Stadium for India s ICC World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. The originally chosen pitch has been replaced with one that has already been used twice in the tournament. The switch is believed to favor Indian spinners. The pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, raised concerns about the change and questioned the fairness of pitch selection for the final match as well.
While Wankhede has been a batting wicket, this season it has helped the bowlers bowling second, making it difficult for the teams to chase down a good total.
