Cheyenne River Youth Project announces artists for RedCan July 7-10, 2021

The Cheyenne River Youth Project will hold this year’s award-winning RedCan invitational graffiti jam in-person this summer.
The nonprofit youth organization says 10 popular RedCan artists will be returning, and an exciting new artistic collaboration awaits.
According to Executive Director Julie Garreau, the following artists have confirmed they will return for RedCan on July 7-10: East from Denver; Biafra Inc., Wundr, Ryoe, and Cyfi from Minneapolis; Hoka from Albuquerque; Dwayno Insano from Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community, Arizona; Scribe from Kansas City, Missouri; 179 from Seattle; and Siamese from Rapid City, South Dakota.
“We’re honored to welcome these talented artists, who have become part of our extended CRYP family, back to Cheyenne River,” Garreau said. “And, because RedCan is always expanding and evolving, we’re looking forward to announcing a few new guest artists in the weeks t ....

Cheyenne River Youth Project retains designer for new Waniyetu Wowapi Lakota Youth Arts & Culture Institute

The Cheyenne River Youth Project has retained the services of Boulder, Colorado-based Pyatt Studio for the design of its new Waniyetu Wowapi (Winter Count) Lakota Youth Arts & Culture Institute. The grassroots, nonprofit organization will break ground for its new art center during RedCan 2021, scheduled for July 7-10.
“We are thrilled to be working with Pyatt Studio in the creation of our new art center,” said Julie Garreau, CRYP’s executive director. “I’ve known Rob Pyatt and Janna Ferguson for years, so it’s an honor to have them be part of this project. Pyatt Studio is an amazing company with great people, and our new art center will be a beautiful addition to our community, providing a wide variety of creative spaces for our treasured young people.” ....
