Alton Police Chief Marcos Pulido said that, at about 7:30 a.m., Alton Police detectives with the assistance of ILEAS Special Response Team executed a drug-related search in the 1000 block of Alton Pointe. “This drug related search warrant was a result of several complaints of possible illegal drug activity occurring at a specific apartment in the Alton Pointe apartment complex,” Pulido said Alton Police narcotics detectives conducted an investigation in which they were able to develop probable cause that illegal drugs were being dealt at a specific apartment, according to Pulido ....
A 26-year-old Alton Man is facing a slew of felonies after his arrest Tuesday morning. Malik S. Carter is charged with two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and single counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance Within 500 Feet of a Church, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, and Aggravated Fleeing / Attempting to Elude. Carter was taken into custody after a brief pursuit that began near an apartment in the 1,000 block of Alton Pointe. Police were executing a drug-related search warrant when Carter allegedly drove up, saw the police activity, and fled. Carter is currently on parole from the Centralia Correctional Center for 2014 convictions of Home Invasion and Armed Robbery. ....
