Beautiful pictures across the area with light snow continuing to come down. Storm team 4 radar tracking the flakes as they go right through the heart of the capital beltway, right over the capital city. Moderate snow at times. Not an awful lot sticking on the roads. Quite a few locations with half an inch to an inch on the grassiest surfaces and exposed locations. Still watching the the snow pile up a touch. Heavier snow moving into parts of charles county. Theres the back end of the snow now. Its already stopped in hagerstown. Martins burg. This back end will continue to slide on through here for the remainder ....
Steadier, light snow coming into northern and west virginia, western up maryland. Its still about four hours away of getting here, so i dont think it will make it in here. My forecast for that not until about 9 00 in the morning. Temperatures are in the 20s. So whatever snow falls will stick initially by midmorning. And as we look at the headlines for today, the two chances of snow are today and again tomorrow. Heres the timing on todays snow chance. I think its going to begin to move in here by around noontime. It will get into the metro area, but farther north and west, this is at 8 00, my forecast for the light snow, dusting to 1 inch for the metro between 10 00 in the morning till 1 00 to 2 00 in the afternoon. It will quickly exit and head off to the east and dissipate. Well get the sunshine back. The snow on wednesday, the timing is different. It looks like this is going to be in the morning.
