The Wall Lake City Council has scheduled three public hearing for their meeting tomorrow (Monday) night. According to Administrator, Chris Rodman, the first hearing references city officials’ effort to obtain funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for a new pumper truck for the Wall Lake Fire Department.
Pumper trucks can cost upwards of $250,000, and he says a grant combined with a low-interest loan will save taxpayers a significant sum compared to regular financing options. They are just getting the ball rolling on the truck purchase and more details will be made available once the city hears back from the USDA. The second hearing is also related to USDA funding, this one for proposed improvements to the city’s wastewater system.
