Voters in a suburban Massachusetts town voted Tuesday in support of a controversial Native American mascot logo that a school committee previously voted to eliminate.

The vote indicated 55% of residents favored keeping the logo while 45% felt it should be changed.

Voters in a suburban Massachusetts town voted Tuesday in support of a controversial Native American mascot logo that a school committee previously voted to eliminate. Wakefield Memorial High School’s Native American Warrior logo morphed from a school committee discussion last month into a full-fledged political campaign. The vote indicated 55% of residents favored keeping the logo while 45% felt it should be changed. Quincy, Barnstable and several other communities have eliminated Native American mascots, logos or nicknames in the last year. ....
