Finding plaster falling from their ceilings as a result of the heavy rain. reporter: it s a wet welcome to the official start of the hurricane season with a potential tropical cyclone blowing through south florida dumping more than a foot of rain the storm was first felt in cuba where at least two people were killed, and a carnival cruise ship rescued 16 people found in a small boat off cuba s coast. i never thought that it was actually going to be to the point where the water was all the way up to my waist reporter: officials say the system swept through florida with no deaths or serious injuries but a different story in texas weathering a separate storm system of its own leading to flash flooding outside of dallas and claiming at least one life, a person trapped in a car unable to escape in time. back in south florida, where the rains have stopped for now, officials are pleading with residents, stay away from floodwaters. we ask that our residents please stay safe, stay vigil ....
