The 6.5km cycleway connects Waterloo station to Taita. “It really is right down the spine of Lower Hutt, along the rail corridor. It’s been a pretty positive outcome that we were able to use that space.” The council’s next focus would be on developing safe connections to the cycleway from suburban streets, he said. “The key is that we need to create better connections onto the Beltway itself.
