Police have opened a criminal investigation into a fire in the home of businessman Ihor Mazepa, whom the State Bureau of Investigation suspects of engaging in land fraud, Chernihiv Oblast police reported on Jan. 22.
The legal drama surrounding the alleged illicit land purchase in Vyshhorod district began in November 2023, said Concorde Capital investment company founder, Ihor Mazepa, during a Jan. 19 courtroom disclosure reported by NV Business.
He was taken into custody until Feb. 27 with an alternative of almost Hr 350 million ($9.1 million) bail, even though the prosecution insisted on bail in the amount of Hr 700 million ($18.2 million).
