Greece’s Stefania “Last Dance” Eurovision 2021 first rehearsal
Oliver: Purple neon seems to be a theme this year in line with the 1980s retro aesthetic. Stefania is wearing a purple Bond girl catsuit with cutouts at the chest and abdomen, complete with crystals, thigh high boots and long evening gloves. The staging isn’t anything to rave about, but there’s some interesting ideas that will keep viewers fixed to their screens. Stefania’s dancers are wearing green screen undergarments beneath their hoodies, hats and trousers they’re keyed out to create the illusion of invisibility. At one point, Stefania’s torso was also keyed out as if being sawn in half by a magician, although this was perhaps a mistake. The backdrop itself is comparable to Ariana Grande’s “no tears left to cry” music video with an 80s touch. Overall it’s quite garish. A good vocal performance though, even with the complicated movements.

“Last Dance”. In one of the most memorable moments of the video, Greece’s star jumps off a building and onto a black Pegasus. Later, she encounters Atlas with the world in his hands. Now, despite rumours swirling in Dutch media and beyond, Stefania has confirmed to Wiwibloggs that her stage show will NOT feature a winged horse, created from the blood of Medusa, or the Titan condemned to hold up the heavens.

Stefania spoke with me on Tuesday from ERT studios in Athens, where she’s currently rehearsing with her dancers.
Rita Ora was reportedly supposed to feature on
Drag Race UK last week, but had to be replaced with a mannequin when she failed to show up.
The episode, which aired last Thursday (11 March), saw contestants star in
BeastEnders, a parody of BBC soap
EastEnders.
A source told
The Sun: “Everyone on set was anticipating Rita’s arrival but, when she didn’t show up, producers had to use their heads and came up with the idea of decorating a mannequin.
“Surprisingly it worked out OK and became a running joke.”
The producers dressed up the mannequin – which they named Mickey – to look like Danny Dyer, who has played Mick Carter on
