The City of Quesnel has a new Volunteer Recognition Program SHARE ON: The new Volunteer Recognition Program will get underway in May. City Councillor Laurey-Anne Roodenburg says it has been expanded to include more groups and more people. “What it does is allows us to highlight all of our volunteers throughout the year. So each month will be organized as a specific group, such as in May culture can be recognized. So any of our groups that are involved in the culture scene can fill out the form on-line and recognize who they are, what they do, as for support if they need more volunteers.” ....
Food City has recognized seven area store associates with volunteerism awards, the company said Wednesday in a press release. The Claude P. Varney Volunteer Recognition Program was created in memory of the former president and board vice chairman. Throughout his 47-year career, Varney âbrought a great deal of foresight and knowledge to Food City and the grocery industry as a whole but was most noted for his tremendous compassion and humanitarian services,â the press release states. âMany of our associates volunteer their time and talents to numerous service organizations throughout the areas in which we operate, and we feel itâs needful to recognize the valuable services and support they provide,â Food City President Steven C.
