(WTXL) â Leon County is stepping in to help the Department of Health take on the task of scheduling vaccine appointments. Help that will free up Department of Health workers who have been working nonstop since the start of the pandemic. It really was a question of, can public health people do things besides man calls, said Mathieu Cavell, Assistant to the County Administrator of Leon County. Can they be the folks who continue to do contract tracing? Can they be the people that run that clinic? ....
The health department did not ask volunteers to leave voicemails with people who do not answer their phones, but volunteers will call a person multiple times, he said. The department does not have one phone number dedicated to scheduling appointments, so those waiting for an appointment should answer all calls from an unknown number.
